About Randy Webb

Certified Fitness Trainer, Martial Arts Instructor & Wellness Coordinator

Mr. Webb is a nationally recognized fitness trainer with over 50 years of experience in athletics and wellness. His passion for sports ignited at the age of five, leading him to excel in organized sports throughout his childhood. A standout athlete, he earned All-State honors in track during high school, where he set a record for the 800 meters that remained unbroken for 11 years.

Randy’s dedication to fitness and athletics opened doors to full scholarships at several prestigious universities, allowing him to pursue his passion on and off the field. At 16, he began Olympic weightlifting, achieving impressive personal records of a 300-pound deadlift and a 185-pound clean and jerk. At 19, he had the opportunity to play with the St. Louis Cardinals, further showcasing his athletic prowess.

At the age of 22, Randy began his martial arts journey, earning his first of many black belts in Isshinryu.

He holds a 9th-degree black belt in Bando and a 7th-degree black belt in Karate. This milestone marked the start of his lifelong dedication to martial arts. His training expanded to include a variety of styles, such as extensive study in Burmese Bando, as well as Northern Shaolin, Pai Mei, Tai Chi Chuan, Yi Chuan, Aikido, Jujutsu, and Judo. Randy has worked to integrate all these techniques into his teaching, encouraging practitioners to develop not only their combat skills but also their awareness, timing, and adaptability. He also emphasizes the importance of integrating fitness training alongside traditional Burmese, Chinese, and Japanese martial arts. Over the next 25 years, he taught martial arts while incorporating fitness into his programs.

Randy’s contributions to the fitness community include managing Chattanooga Health Studio and teaching at the Downtown YMCA for over a decade. He was instrumental in developing Erlanger Hospital’s first wellness program and served as the wellness coordinator. Additionally, he implemented exercise programs for McKee Foods (Little Debbie) employees and for Beaulieu of America in Dalton, GA. He was also hired by the military to help recruits improve their fitness and combat readiness, developing a men’s-only military-type training program named “Randy’s Rangers,” which focused on rigorous physical conditioning and teamwork.

In pursuit of his entrepreneurial vision, Randy launched his own fitness business, creating specialized training programs that cater to diverse populations.

His “Athletic Prep” program achieved notable success with the Baylor football team and other high school and college athletes. His “Contour” program for women became a standout initiative, boasting full enrollment of 150 women per session and waitlists of up to 50 participants for each session. This program transformed many women’s lives, helping them shape their bodies and achieve their fitness goals.

Randy has trained a variety of professional athletes, including NBA player Gerald Wilkins and several international basketball stars, such as Tshombe High, Nelson Kirby, Johnny Taylor, and Bryan Coe, who was a catcher for the Kennesaw State baseball team and later drafted to play professional baseball. His expertise extends to personal training for women in sports and pageants, with numerous titleholders in beauty contests, including several Miss Chattanooga winners, several Miss Hamilton County winners, several Miss Tennessee winners, and a Miss America First Runner-up.

Additionally, he coached equestrian competitor Carl Bouchaert, who excelled in multiple Olympic events for over 20 years, and Michael Pollard, who became a USA Equestrian Team member.

Randy’s outstanding achievements have been recognized through numerous accolades. He was the recipient of the 1992 Tennessee Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Health Award, and he was named Most Valuable Resource and Best Speaker by the Young Presidents’ Organization. He also earned the title of Black Belt Instructor of the Year from the Professional Karate Association.
